WE DON’T BELIEVE IN BEING MEDIOCRE NOR GIVING MEDIOCRE – We give everything our EVERYTHING. We obsess about exceeding expectations and going above and beyond to give the people who share our passion our very best.
Defense Task Force started in a spare room at our home in New Zealand. Having full time jobs by day in the software industry, we began the journey on our passion project during the night. We are independent studio and intend to stay independent through developing games that enrich the lives of our customers. Our goal is to disrupt the gaming market with rich yet complex games that reward our players for strategic excellence.
We wake up early to embrace the fun and excitement life has to offer. But our fulfillment comes from you, the gamer, and your enjoyment from our lost sleep. We couldn’t do this without you, and we are thrilled to develop titles that will embrace your imagination.
But our journey was never easy. After missing our Kickstarter goal we approached a crossroads. Instead of losing our conviction we reached deeper within ourselves for the passion of bringing Defense Task Force to life. We are grateful of this failure, as it gave us the opportunity to reevaluate and focus on our strengths and weaknesses. We shared the belief that we would never let our dream die. We decided to nurture our dream and build a team that shared our conviction. This humbling moment redefined who we are, and what we want to be. Only through believing can you achieve, and only through achieving can you inspire others to believe.

Roddrick Lynch
We met Roddrick through a tweet we posted a while back for a community manager. Roddrick is the centrifugal force of our Outreach Program. He is instrumental to defining and executing our Marketing Outreach Program. He inspires us each day on how much this game means to us as well as our community and knocks on “online doors” to spread awareness through social connections. By engaging YouTubers and Streamers to give our game a try, his efforts connect us directly with our community. Regardless of time zone, his work is performed in a timely yet professional manner.

Niklas
During the early days of Defense Task Force we approached a few YouTubers. While most YouTubers did not engage, Niklas reached out and played the game on his channel. Through inviting his community to share feedback, Niklas has been instrumental in testing our game, providing feedback and developing our game tutorials. As an expert in tower defense titles Niklas continues to give us clarity on what features are essential or trivial. We consider Niklas our Community Support Manager who engages with our gamers especially when they need support, clarity, or strategic advice.

Suchit Kaushal
Suchit came on board once the game had definition. With strengths in pricing strategies and all things accounting he is a highly valued member of the team. Understanding licensing is something many developers struggle to achieve but not with members like Suchit. He is the go to guy for the New Zealand team building events. From organizing evenings to relax to inspiring movies to watch, Suchit’s ability to find a quick healthy meal kept the team energized in moments of high stress. Working on a lean budget is difficult for many companies but Suchit’s ability to create something out of nothing is one of the most valued assets on the team. Finding potential supporters is essential to any game’s success, and he relentlessly identifies them.

Tikiri Wicks
Defense Task Force was born in Tikiri’s mind, he is our night owl and Energizer bunny who keeps going and going. His energy defined the creation of Defense Task Force, and his dedication is clearly illustrated by the game’s immersion. He is the core brain and developer for Defense Task Force in terms of game dynamics, balancing, and overall creation of the game. He is very knowledgeable of the industry, and openly shares his knowledge with inquiring minds. An asset every successful team needs.

Zuricka Azavedo
Zuricka is the glue of Defense Task Force. She is responsible for the core business direction, and has developed Defense Task Force from a hobby to a business. Specializing in Project Management, Zuricka has brought together a high performing team through aligning passion with workload. Though sales are critical, she leads with the understanding that our team and customers are our bloodline. Her creative approach is cherished by the entire team. She is driven by creating opportunities for the team to develop their skills, earn a living, and work on a game they are passionate about.

Nicolas Bella
Nicolas was the 1st developer we hired him to help us to get the game up a notch from a design front-end perspective. He was at university and managed to help us for 2 years while at university and it has been a journey where each of us have learnt so much around game programming. Design runs in his veins 🙂 All our marketing design images were done by this fabulous down to earth creative guy. Life would have been difficult without him. As usual we were knocking on Milan’s door online at the nth hour to help us out with images and he made sure he gave us a treat and make us feel we can win even at the last moment.
